"Happy Father's Day"

Hey Y'all!!

We were able to have a pretty good week this week! Last week was some what of a struggle to get my companion motivated to get out the door, but we were able to get out a lot easier this week! We were able to get in contact with a really solid investigator named Jay. He has been meeting with the missionaries for awhile and has enjoyed the meetings. We were able to share a part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with, Faith in Jesus Christ, Repentance, and Baptism. He wants to get baptized, but is worried that there would be a division in his family because he is the only one that is taking the lessons. However, he has been reading the Book of Mormon and has been searching for an answer. I really feel that he could get baptized soon. However, he has a hard time making it to church because he works nights and struggles to wake up for church. But he starts a new job here pretty soon and he will be more open to come to church. We aren't going to be able to meet with him this week because his son has a baseball tournament all week. Sounds pretty familiar right family? Haha! So next week we are going to meet with him and hopefully talk about a baptism date.

This week we were able to see a less active who is reading the Book of Mormon all the way through. He also has a really cool gun collections from WWII. But he is already in 3 Nephi 15 and has been really enjoying it. He doesn't fully know if the Gospel is true yet, but he also hasn't come to church in a long time. We invited him to come to church this past week but he didn't make it.

We were able to do quite a bit of service this week as well. We were able to help put together meals at one of the local churches. We filled up a pretty big shopping cart and also filled like like 10 boxes full of vegetables, fruit, potatoes and stuff like that. We also filled up a big Penske truck on the hottest and most humid day of the year. Me and another missionary we inside the truck playing Tetris with all the furniture and we were sweating so bad! The picture on the bottom is me with my drenched shirt on. It looks like I got a bucket of water dumped on me, but I didn't. And then we also were able to dig a trench for a water pipe. Texas soil is not the best to be digging in because it's so thick. Even with all the rain that we have been getting. But it was still fun and it helped out those people a lot.

This upcoming week we are having Zone conference and it will be my last one. It's really weird to think about because I still remember my first zone conference back in Killeen. So because it's my last one, I get the opportunity to share my testimony with the missionaries that are there. We also have some good potential this week for investigators and could hopefully have abaptism date or 2 by the end of the week. Love tall and have the best day ever!

Love,
Elder O'Brien
